How does it taste?
Blood oranges have a lovely bright and tart flavour, reminiscent of raspberries and sunshine. Combining this with the raw cane sugar, there's a complex sweetness balanced with a little acidity - and of course, a little heat from the birds eye chillies. The peel isn't as bitter as other types of orange (such as Seville), so if you're not usually a marmalade fan, give this one a try!
Where are the blood oranges from?
The blood oranges are sourced via CrowdFarming, a platform that connects farmers directly to consumers and producers. Through CrowdFarming, Easton Chilli adopted a tree at Arancebio organic farm in Sicily, Italy, which we've named Queen Jamidala. She (amongst other trees) has provided us delicious juicy oranges since 2022. Long may she reign.
